Body acceptance and cultivating softness

An unhealthy relationship with the body and food is no longer limited to anorexia, bulimia, and obesity. Early in my career as a psychologist in Germany, most of the women and men who came into the clinic had problems related to those three categories. With the influx of fad diets, nutritional trends, and changes in the ideal female and male bodies, new categories of unhealthy relationships with food and our bodies have emerged.

There are two main issues at the root of all difficulties around eating and body acceptance:

  1. Body image – the gap between how I experience my body and my real body

  2. Emotional eating – using food as the main way of dealing with emotions, whether negative or positive

Body image in women\men

Do you weigh yourself every day?

Do you count calories at every meal?

Do you look in the mirror and see a fat, ugly person, no matter what you do?

Are you tired of feeling this way?

Do you want to find out how to enjoy food and stop counting calories?

Do you want to stop stepping on the scales every day?

Do you want to make peace with your body?

I offer a unique psychotherapy where you work with me to develop a personalized plan of treatment. The treatment consists of four stages:
