I am always so touched by our divinity and being connected to all Life. How beautiful we all are, when we truly connect. The thing that astonishes me every time all over again is our capacity for tremendous love when we allow ourselves to be in our hearts.
But to do so we must realize that the body and soul are equally important. Now I know people say that a lot, but in my years of experience as a psychologist and yoga teacher, most do not understand this sentence.
What I mean is:
You have a body
You are the soul,
BUT through your body you connect to your soul.
Meaning the body is the entrance to your true temple – the soul.
So, to me everyone who abandons their body because they have the idea that this is what it means to be spiritual, misses the point and everyone who believes their body is a machinery with no soul, to be used and abused, ignores the truth of their existence.
That’s why to me the chakra system is genius, because it explains this connection so clearly and beautifully.
The first three chakras are connected to the material world.
The upper three chakras are of the spiritual world – our connection to the divine.
The heart - our fourth chakra connects both worlds – love is the connection between matter and the divine, between basic survival to living our true purpose.
It makes sense then, that we should treat our bodies with respect and love, for us to connect easier to ourselves – the soul.
